Their Martyrdom - Our Freedom : A poem by Utsav Mukherjee, Grade IX, Funlish Language School

Their Martyrdom - Our Freedom It is us enjoying the freedom, At the cost of their martyrdom. They fought till they had naught, It was freedom that they sought. Being independent, We forget, on whom we were dependent. Bullets wounded them But the hope of independence served as their helm. It was finally fifteenth of August, When India became free of the imperialistic curse. The martyrs' wishes were fulfilled. The wounds on India's freedom were healed.   Finally, the Tiranga was swung, It was a breeze like a breath of India's own lungs.   It was then that we had an identity of our own As it was the martyrs by whom the seeds of freedom were sown.   So on this prosperous day let us remember those To whom the credit of independence goes.   JAI HIND!
